Road to Whitehorse, The Yukon Territory

It's cooler here than anywhere we have been,
the average temperature in July here is 59 degrees,
and July is the rainest month, it rained today......
when hooking up this morning I was attacked by swarms of mosquitoes and no see ums,
they were in my eyes, my mouth, didn't have my netting on,
but got my muskoil out and that helped
You can see for 100 miles the guidebook says,
no pollution here
We've seen mostly 5th wheel trailers, and new ones, at that,
going up the road

Cindy drove 318 miles again today,
but we are in Whitehorse and there's lots to see here,
will be staying 2 days and will be coming back here

Tasha stays up here in the Yukon for a summer job pumping gas and washing windows, she lives in Grand Prarie, where she says there are less mosquitoes

The largest bridge on the Alaska Highway,
the decking is steel grating
and the motorhome floats on it when it was wet from the rain,
not too much fun driving across it

Mukluk Annie's was advertised for miles, buy a salmon dinner get
free camping, free rv wash
we had to see what the deal was,
turned out it was really good,
everything was cooked over a wood fire.
The salmon spawn up the Yukon River from the Pacific Ocean

The bridge surface is being reconcreted, made for a real interesting cross over the bridge, very tight and very far down on one side!

We have only seen dead moose on the side of the road, we were told that they come to the road and lick the asphalt to get the salt off the asphalt that they use in the winter to deice the roads
most trucks have these "moose" catchers, we have Cindy's good eyes

No, not driving yet, I have to pass Cindy's driving eye test and she has always seen better than me, better than anybody I know, she can tell you what roadkill is from half a mile down the road and how to cook it. Don't think I will ever pass, of course it didn't help when she said see that truck up there and I said yeah, of course and she said, ha! There's no truck there!
