North Pole, Santa's House

A little look at Santa and the Mrs. on their days off

North Pole is right next to Fairbanks, we are staying inbetween them in our RV Park, there is a Santa RV Park in the North Pole, I'm sure Santa puts all his relatives up there

Santa in front of his RV Park
Gracie has never seen such a large Santa

Santa does get all those letters, here they are

Here's Santa and the Missus, he amazed this woman that he knew her name and where she lived, he's Santa, what's the matter with her

Right across from Santa was this countdown clock, he's keeping his eye on it all the time

A dime to ride Rudolph

Hobbyreindeer

I did some snooping around Santa's house, used their bathroom, and found that the hot water was on the wrong side and the cold water too, I wonder if the elf's had something to do with that

Rudolph looks like he could use a little more reindeer food, his ribs were showing

What velvet antlers, very pretty, he picked up the bucket and shook it, like, is that all there is

Dejected he walks a way.......waiting for Christmas

We drove back in to Barnett's Cache, or now known as Fairbanks, I saw on a wall in the entrance to the grocery store, today, that it was a Judge who reccomended that the town change it's name to the Senator From Ohio, Fairbanks

We were going to get some pictures of downtown Fairbanks, but it there really wasn't anything to take a picture of, seems like everything has moved out to strip malls, like everywhere else
This however, is the power plant for Fairbanks, I don't know for sure what they burn for fuel, but lots of towns burn coal around here

Fairbanks has the 20th worst air quality in the United States, according to the American Lung Association, Anchorage has the 7th cleanest

This house is close to the Airport, seems a little too close

Went shopping for food here, 5 years ago food was higher than the Seattle area, today food was the same if not lower, Diesel was lower, gas is, they must be doing something right here, seems like it would cost a little extra to ship all the food up here, don't ya think

Hi Wilderness Girls,
I hope you told Santa (or Mrs. Santa) that you all have been very nice. Hope you put a good word in for me also.
Thank you for the Santa pictures. It makes "seeing" that you found the REAL North Pole - more convincing now that you sent all of those pictures. And Santa has to go to the bathroom just like the rest of us - right?!!
If I didn't know better - I would think that Jim has been up that way and that he put the plumbing in for that is usually the way our water is -- the opposite of what it is supposed to be. Even our light switches are often upside down. Every time I go to turn the light on or off, I have to remind myself that it is the opposite of the way it is supposed to be. Ugh!
Thanks also for the pictures of Santa's reindeer. That was an extra special bonus. I guess his nose only turns red at Christmas - right.
Did I miss your update on your leg -- for today or was what you wrote yesterday -- for today? I seem to forget which day you are replying to.
I meant to tell you that gravity was going to send that "bruising" to your feet and ankles. Hopefully they will start feeling better soon. Hang in there.
It looks like Bardavenport (I probably misspelled this - oops) and my self are the only one who are "riding" along with you on this great adventure!!! Or maybe I just can't see anyone else's comments. Anyway, I really am enjoying the trip and the pictures and the comments. You have such a great story here. Will you be able to save it for the future (photo's and the comments)? That would be great also. Thanks again for allowing us to hitch a ride with you. You have been a great tour guide.
Continue to rest your leg. I need to get a quick shower before I go to bed. After church today, I stopped by and got a little bit of my hair cut off. They had a grand opening - and I could see where they were doing haircuts for $7.99. So I got in line. Now I have hair all down my neck and back. It will be good to get it all washed in the shower.
Remember to behave.
Your friend,
Linda2

Hi Wilderness Girls,
I am still looking at the pictures of Santa Land that you sent over the weekend. I feel like a little girl at Christmas time. Already thinking of a couple things I am going to put on my "wish list". I sure hope someone remembers to look at my list. I am tired of getting vacuum cleaners, pots and pans, and other practical gifts for Christmas. I want the fun stuff. Hopefully if I get my wish list letter to Santa early, I will stand a better chance of getting something I really want instead of something that either my husband wants or something that he thinks "I" can use to clean or cook with.
So how does it feel to be up on top of the world? High Up? It sounds like you are having the trip of your life even if your leg is acting up. Is it feeling any better? What color are you now? If it all settled down in your ankle/feet - it may take a long time for it to all go away. Continue to keep your legs propped up as much as possible. I have seen people prop their feet up on the dash (the passenger) so maybe Cindy will allow you to put yours up on the dash of the RV while she is driving. Anyway, I hope you are feeling better and at least relieved that you don't have blood clots. You are very fortunate that this wasn't your diagnosis.
Hi Barbara (I hope that is your name for I have forgotten your email name). I don't want to take a chance of losing this comment that I have typed. (I have lost quite a few -- by trying to look at something and then it disappears so I am not taking any chances here -- just going to type and send.) I am new with this blogging stuff and am learning as I go. It sounds like you have been here (Alaska) -- where the "wilderness girls" are and know what they are looking at. Glad to know that you have "kin" (relatives) up that way - in case they need a kind face to help them. That's a relief also -- that they could call someone -- closer by than the rest of us.
Hopefully, we will get more pictures from them later today or tomorrow. This has been one of the best "vacation adventures" I have ever been on. Linda1 is doing an excellent job of explaining things along the way and also of capturing a lot of awesome pictures. What did we do before the Internet and the Digital Camera?!!!
Got to think about going to bed. It is getting late here on this side of the world. Take care and continue to be good.
Your friend,
Linda2

My programmer is trying to persuade me to move to .net from PHP.
I have always disliked the idea because of the costs.

But he's tryiong none the less. I've been using WordPress on a number of websites for
about a year and am nervous about switching to another platform.
I have heard very good things about blogengine.net. Is there a way I can transfer all my wordpress posts into it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
