It's only this far on the map......

For those of you who were following our continuing saga with the propane, yes, we did eat dinner at home tonight. First thing in the morning I went across the street, the service manager came over, borrowed some tools and took the propane tubing off, it was overtightened at the factory and the flare was cracked, as I had suspected, it was fixed in a half an hour, with travel time, and cost only $50, what a deal!
So...we went on the dreaded road and we will be fine going over it in the motorhome, so that takes days off of our travels.
We had a little time to spare so we stopped at the Northwest Territories Visitor Center, and they showed us a little trip of a lifetime we could take......we're going to INUVIK!
I know you all have been dying to go to Inuvik, the farthest north planned city, on the farthest north public road, only the Alaskan Pipeline road goes further north

It's on the Mackenzie River Delta, you have only been able to drive there since 1978 when the Dempster Highway was completed, it's the only highway in Canada that crosses the Artic Circle, it's 460 miles through 3 moutain ranges and 3 ecological areas

Inuvik has 24 hours of daylight in the months of June, July and August, and 24 hours of darkness in December
So get out your maps and look up the Northwest Territory
(that's the same place that the Ice Truck series is coming from)
It can get to 70 degrees below in the winter
But it's not so cold now

Come with us and see
We'll be back in Dawson City on Friday, it takes two days to get up there and two to get back, our motorhome will stay here at Bonanza RV and the doggies, the car and us are going there
